Innovative Approaches to Supporting People with Disabilities in Bremen

The Friedehorst Foundation in Bremen is well-known for its extensive efforts in supporting individuals with disabilities and the elderly. This organization exemplifies an effective approach to providing social services, rehabilitation, and adaptation.

     During our visit, we explored the workings of various departments within the foundation, particularly those focusing on care for individuals with disabilities, rehabilitation programs for both children and adults, and modern methods of supporting the elderly.

     For the Odesa region, this experience is incredibly valuable as we aim to develop our area towards greater accessibility and creating conditions for the social integration of all population categories. We discussed opportunities for collaboration in sharing experiences, implementing modern rehabilitation technologies, and creating training programs for professionals working with individuals with disabilities.

     We also paid special attention to the development of long-term strategies for supporting socially vulnerable groups that could be adapted to our regional conditions.

     We are grateful to our colleagues at Friedehorst for their openness and willingness to share their insights. Such collaboration is a crucial step towards improving the quality of life for residents of the Odesa region.
