Financial Resilience and Community Development Forum

On October 3-4, 2024, the forum «Financial Resilience and Community Development» took place in Lviv as part of the Ukrainian Resilience Week.

This event brought together representatives from local governments, both Ukrainian and international financial institutions, as well as experts in local finance.

Notable participants included Lviv's mayor Andriy Sadovyi; first deputy head of the Verkhovna Rada Oleksandr Korniienko; head of the Lviv regional state administration Maksym Kozytskyi; EU representative in Ukraine Aser Santillan; deputy head of the USAID project «HOVERLA» Mar'yan Yukich; deputy finance minister of Ukraine Olha Zykova; financial director of Graz municipality Johannes Muller; local finance experts from USAID Valentina Tymoschuk and Natalia Koren; advisor to the Association of Ukrainian Cities Oksana Prodan.

Andriy Zarytskyi represented Odesa at the forum as the acting director of the Department of Finance.

The forum served as a platform for discussions on challenges in local finance and finding solutions for financial resilience and community growth.

During the event, participants visited the National Rehabilitation Center UNBROKEN, which provides comprehensive medical assistance to military personnel and civilians who have lost limbs.

Panel discussions addressed critical issues, including collaboration with international financial institutions, local tax administration, the responsibilities of local financial authorities, collaboration tools between banks and municipalities, pathways to Eurointegration, medium and long-term planning, energy independence, and labor market inclusivity.
