Collaboration for Enhancing Odesa's Budget
On September 27, 2024, a meeting took place in Odesa involving representatives from the Main Directorate of the State Tax Service of Ukraine in the Odesa region, the Southern Interregional Directorate of the Ministry of Justice, and Odesa City Council officials, along with directors of municipal enterprises.
The meeting, initiated by the Odesa City Council's Finance Department, focused on identifying ways to increase Odesa's budget revenue and ensure its execution for the current year.
The main goal of the meeting was to emphasize that collaborative efforts and establishing effective cooperation should be the tools to impact the revenue execution in 2024 and facilitate the development of a robust budget for 2025.
The discussion unfolded in an active dialogue among local authorities, tax, and executive services. Participants addressed pressing issues faced during the war that hinder fruitful collaboration.
During the meeting, proposals were thoroughly discussed regarding solutions to problematic budgetary issues, identifying and implementing reserves for revenue generation, particularly emphasizing the necessity of maintaining a database of taxpayers for land and real estate.
Effective execution of the Odesa City Territorial Community's budget will ensure the city's sustainable functioning, provide prompt assistance to the Armed Forces, and offer social support to defenders and their families.
A plan for joint actions and cooperation aimed at increasing the city's budget revenue through the expansion of the tax base will be developed based on the meeting's outcomes.
