Revitalization of Heroes' Square in Odesa

Starting from August 9, 2024, comprehensive renovation works at Heroes' Square (Tolbukhin) began in Odesa.

The extensive renovations were carried out in phases and included repairs to the roadway, external lighting, and tram tracks.

As stated by Odesa's mayor, Gennadiy Trukhanov, the city welcomed new modern trams, thus necessitating repairs on certain sections of the old tracks for their safe passage.

The renovation at Heroes' Square has been completed ahead of schedule. Thanks to the updated rail track and the raised asphalt surface, the traffic capacity for vehicles has significantly improved.

Additionally, traffic lights have been adjusted based on prior traffic analysis.

Moreover, the area has been beautified with quality road markings, and lighting has been replaced with more efficient and economical solutions. Consequently, night-time movement in this area has become safer, while tram operations have become smoother and quieter.
