Traffic Safety Initiatives in Odessa

In Odessa, the Patrol Police have identified 25 critical intersections that significantly contribute to traffic safety in the city.

During power outages, the Municipal Enterprise «SMEP» collaborates with the Patrol Police to monitor the functionality of traffic lights.

All key intersections are equipped with large uninterruptible power supplies, ensuring that traffic lights can operate autonomously for 4 to 8 hours if fully charged.

If necessary, the Municipal Enterprise «SMEP» replaces batteries, and in urgent situations, works with the Department of Transport to connect generators to maintain traffic light operations.

While replacing batteries and connecting generators, the Patrol Police manage traffic at the intersections.
