Honoring Military Counterintelligence Day in Ukraine

In Ukraine, Military Counterintelligence Day is celebrated, highlighting its significance for national security.

This professional holiday was established by the decree of the President of Ukraine in 1991, marking the inception of military counterintelligence in the independent state.

General Oleksandr Syrskyi, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, congratulated counterintelligence officers on their professional holiday.

He stated, "Today, we honor those who combat enemy agents, uncover spies and saboteurs."

Syrskyi emphasized that during the war for Ukraine's independence, the role of counterintelligence personnel is exceptional as they operate on the front lines of the “invisible front.”

"On this day, I bow my head in memory of every brave counterintelligence officer who sacrificed their life in the fight against the Russian empire of evil. I sincerely thank our counterintelligence agents for thwarting enemy plans and saving the lives of Ukrainian citizens," said the commander.
