Heating System Upgrade in Odesa
Today, November 12, one of the heating plants in Odesa halted operations for six hours due to chimney reconstruction.
Immediately after the previous heating season ended, the KP «TMO» initiated a comprehensive inspection of all chimneys. In June, it was concluded that one chimney required emergency repairs — specifically at the «North-1» facility.
As stated by Odesa's Deputy Mayor Hanna Pozdnyakova, there are no similar projects in the country considering the chimney's height (120 meters). To carry out the work, the company hired a crane with a capacity of 600 tons, weighing 970 tons.
There are few such cranes in Ukraine, only a handful, and they are all engaged in restoring energy facilities after attacks from enemy territory.
«According to the schedule, the crane was supposed to be at the KP «TMO» site back in August, but due to circumstances beyond our control, the deadlines were significantly delayed — the equipment was engaged in other critical tasks. Additionally, the level and scale of work require highly qualified specialists, and given our realities, their availability also turned out to be an issue. We are working under the circumstances which we cannot influence,» noted Hanna Pozdnyakova.
KP «TMO» apologizes for the temporary inconveniences and emphasizes that it is doing everything possible to ensure a stable and reliable heating supply for Odesa residents throughout the heating season.
