Tourism Conference Focuses on Accessibility in Odesa

05 December 2024

Today, December 5, 2024, Odesa hosted a conference titled «Odesa: A City for Everyone».

The aim of this event was to unite the efforts of local authorities and businesses to enhance accessibility in the tourism sector.

This issue has been identified as critical for 2024 by the National Tourism Organization of Ukraine.

Despite the ongoing challenges, Odesa continues to welcome both domestic and international tourists, making it essential to focus on the accessibility of its infrastructure.

The conference brought together individuals with disabilities, government representatives, and business leaders to discuss the accessibility of cultural and tourist sites. Participants also addressed the topic of medical tourism.

«We are creating conditions for every resident and visitor to move freely, access necessary services, and engage in social life. Hotels, restaurants, museums, theatres, and transport must be accessible to people with disabilities,» emphasized Odesa's mayor, Hennadiy Trukhanov.

Additionally, discussions included the current state of affairs, future plans, grant programs, and the role of businesses in fostering an inclusive environment in Odesa.
