Release of Fish in Khadzhybei Lagoon

In the Odesa region, more than 10 tons of fish have been released into Khadzhybei Lagoon, including grass carp and carp. This was reported by the ecological inspection.
As part of the fish stock restoration program, 10,090 kilograms of fish were released on November 12, 2025.

Specifically:

• 4,742 kilograms of young grass carp;
• 5,348 kilograms of young carp.

For reference: the choice of these fish species for stocking the water body has practical significance, including:

• Grass carp – a natural filter feeder that consumes phytoplankton, helping to reduce its excess in the water, combating algal blooms;
• Carp – an omnivorous species that is undemanding to conditions and tolerates changes in temperature and oxygen levels well.
