Street Lighting Renovation in Odesa

29 November 2024

The Municipal Enterprise «Odesmiksvitlo» is actively engaged in improving street lighting in the city's streets, parks, and squares, as well as addressing emergency situations.

Regular inspections of street lighting facilities (poles, distribution cabinets, lamps, etc.) are conducted to identify faulty or damaged elements, as well as acts of vandalism. Electricians from the enterprise perform tasks related to upgrading cable networks, replacing old lamps and brackets with new ones, trimming trees, and resolving other emergency situations.

In the first 11 months of 2024, as part of ongoing repairs, the company's specialists replaced 2390 lamps and 380 brackets, and upgraded 75003 meters of cable networks.

During these operations, 7632 trees that were damaging the electrical networks were trimmed.

Additionally, the specialists of «Odesmiksvitlo» replaced street lighting poles.

Replacing poles is a labor-intensive process, especially due to emergencies (weather, traffic accidents) or the expiration of the service life of old poles. This requires the use of special equipment (cranes).

In just 11 months of 2024, 64 emergency poles were replaced, 10 of which were damaged due to traffic accidents.

In October of this year, an act of vandalism was recorded on the Health Trail, resulting in damage to 10 poles. Automatic switches, terminal box covers, and cables were stolen and ripped out.
