Corruption Scandal in Forestry Administration
The leadership of the forestry administration has been found engaging in corrupt practices, consistently "profiting" from the issuance of hunting permits. Three officials from the Southern Interregional Forestry and Hunting Administration have been charged with receiving illegal benefits.
This information was provided by the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office.
According to the investigation, two of the suspects, holding managerial positions and abusing their official status, devised a corrupt scheme to systematically receive bribes from individuals seeking to obtain a hunting license that permits hunting. The officials created a manipulation mechanism during the examination process for obtaining the license. To implement the plan, they involved members of the examination commission responsible for conducting the tests and ensuring favorable outcomes. The "fee" for successful completion of the tests was set at a minimum of 2000 hryvnias per candidate. In total, the officials received over 100,000 hryvnias in illegal benefits. They were apprehended during the receipt of the next payment.
