Innovative Body Armor for Military: Enhancing Safety on Water

22 October 2025

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is launching new body armor that enables soldiers to stay afloat in water while carrying essential gear and weapons. This information was released by the MoD.
These body armors come with a modular setup that includes a special buoyancy element developed and approved by the Central Material Support Office.
When in contact with water, this module converts the body armor into a life-saving device that can support a fully equipped soldier on the water's surface. This innovation significantly reduces risks during aquatic operations, whether at sea or when crossing water obstacles.
It is noted that these body armors are being utilized by the Naval Forces and special operations units operating in coastal areas and on water.
Earlier reports indicated that the MoD is preparing standards for quality control of defense procurements in line with NATO requirements, aimed at establishing unified qualifications for personnel responsible for defense procurement.
