Weather Alert: Dangerous Conditions in Odesa

07 October 2025

The Hydrometeorological Center of the Black and Azov Seas and the Odesa City Council.

Warning about dangerous meteorological phenomena of Level I (yellow) hazard

On October 8, Odesa is expected to experience a northeast wind of 15-20 m/s. Significant rainfall is anticipated in the morning and afternoon.

The Odesa City Council reminds residents and visitors to be vigilant regarding weather changes and to limit movement and travel within the city during adverse weather, especially for the elderly, children, and pregnant women. Caution is advised when moving under trees, as strong gusts of wind and rain may cause branches and power lines to fall.

Please do not leave vehicles under trees, power lines, or on stormwater drain grates.

The risk of staying in the beach zone is extremely high. Due to the storm in the Black Sea, there is an increased risk of mines. There is a high possibility of sea mines breaking loose from their anchors and drifting ashore, as well as drifting along the coastline. There is also a chance of uncontrolled detonation of a mine, especially in stormy weather. If you find a sea mine or any similar objects, do not touch them. Immediately report it to 102.
