Impact of the Heavy Rainfall in Odesa

01 October 2025

On September 30, 2025, a powerful storm struck Odesa, causing significant damage to the city. Within a single day, the area received an unprecedented amount of rainfall, resulting in flooded roads and homes, as well as power outages in several neighborhoods.

Despite the rapid response from emergency services and city workers, the storm led not only to substantial property damage but also, tragically, to loss of life.

October 2, 2025, has been declared a Day of Mourning in Odesa in memory of the deceased.

Flags of Ukraine and Odesa will be flown at half-mast as a sign of respect.

Businesses and organizations in the city are encouraged to limit music usage and refrain from hosting entertainment events.

The mayor and city council of Odessa extend their condolences to the families of the victims.
