New water well in the Peresyp district: modern technologies for clean drinking water

27 September 2025

A modern water supply complex with an artesian well has been completed in the Peresyp district at 60v Heroes of Defense of Odesa Street.

This facility will serve as the second source of quality drinking water in this densely populated area. Plans are underway to build two more facilities on Akad. Sakharov Street and Vladislav Buvalkin Street.

The new complex includes a technical building, staff rooms, a pumping station, as well as a ventilation and air conditioning system, fire alarm system, and a diesel generator for uninterrupted operation during power outages.

“This is not just a technical facility — it’s a guarantee of safety and care for the people. We realized how important it is to have backup water sources when the country experienced disruptions due to enemy attacks. Now we have another modern, reliable water supply facility that meets all requirements,” emphasized Odesa Mayor Gennady Trukhanov.

The facility is equipped with an artesian well over 115 meters deep, with a water flow rate of 3–4 cubic meters per hour. The water undergoes a complete purification cycle: aeration, mechanical filtration, reverse osmosis, ozonation, and carbon filtration.

This process ensures that the water meets hygiene standards for drinking consumption, as confirmed by laboratory analyses from the State Enterprise “Ukrainian Scientific Research Institute of Transport Medicine” of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

Currently, there are 17 water supply facilities operating in various districts of Odesa.
