Denial of Data Leak from the Diya App

The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine has officially refuted rumors about a potential data leak from the popular «Diya» app. The agency clarified that the circulated files are forgeries and have no connection to the system.

Deputy Minister Vitaliy Balashov mentioned that the team conducted a thorough investigation and found the information to be fabricated. «These files are a mix of old leaks that have been altered to create the appearance of a new leak,» he stated.

Furthermore, the Ministry emphasized that the «Diya» system does not store personal data. All information is retrieved from state registries at the time of the request and is not retained within the app.

Additionally, in March 2024, the code of Diya was released, confirming the absence of hidden databases with personal information. «This reflects our commitment to transparency and openness,» Balashov added.

Earlier, there were reports of an archive containing personal information of over 20 million Ukrainians, prompting the Ministry to verify the claims. According to them, the data is secure, and the leak information is false.
