Impact of Wildfires in Odesa Region Over the Week

In the past week, rescue teams in the Odesa area responded to over 220 incidents related to wildfires in dry vegetation. The damages are estimated to be nearly 31 billion hryvnias.
According to the press service of the State Emergency Service of Odesa, the total area affected by the fires reached 125 hectares.
“These figures are not just statistics from the State Ecological Inspectorate. They represent destroyed ecosystems, dead animals and birds. In the worst cases, such fires obliterate homes and take human lives,” stated the State Emergency Service, once again urging the public to refrain from burning grass and waste, as well as to adhere to safety regulations in open areas.
