New Safety Measures in Ukrainian Ports

05 September 2025

By the end of the current year, the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority plans to install 38 additional mobile shelters in the ports of the Greater Odesa, the Danube region, and Mykolaiv.
This was announced by the press service of the USPA: "The safety of our workers is a key condition for the stable operation of the industry."
These new shelters will enable a rapid response to threats, reduce access time to protective structures, and safeguard the personnel essential for the daily operation of critical infrastructure," the statement reads.
Currently, there are already fixed protective structures and a number of mobile shelters functioning in the ports. However, the vastness of the areas, the specifics of operations, and the short flight time of ballistic missiles necessitate additional solutions.
Recently, 10 new modular shelters were installed at the Odesa port with the assistance of the "Ukrainian Foundation" charity. They are located directly next to the workstations, allowing port workers to quickly seek protection.
