Arrest of Suspect in Deputy's Murder
On the night of September 1, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the arrest of an individual suspected of committing a crime against deputy and former Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, Andriy Parubiy.
He shared this information on social media.
"Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Klymenko and the head of the Security Service Vasyl Maliuk have just reported the arrest of the suspect in Andriy Parubiy's case," Zelensky stated.
Zelensky emphasized that necessary investigative actions are ongoing.
"I have instructed to provide the public with all available information. I thank law enforcement for their prompt and coordinated efforts. All details of this horrific crime must be investigated," he added.
Update: It was later revealed that Zelensky had a conversation with Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko.
"He (Kravchenko – ed.) reported on the next procedural steps regarding the suspect in Andriy Parubiy's murder. The first testimonies have been obtained. Urgent investigative actions are currently being conducted to establish all circumstances of this crime," Zelensky noted.
Previously, Zelensky assured that work on the investigation into the murder of deputy Andriy Parubiy was being carried out "virtually around the clock."
