Extension of Benefits for Vulnerable IDPs

27 August 2025

In August, the deadline for housing assistance for certain internally displaced persons (IDPs) from the most vulnerable categories, who received it during the previous three six-month periods, expired. The government has decided to extend these payments for another six months, until February 2026.

This was reported by the Ministry of Social Policy, Family, and Unity.

The assistance pertains to individuals with disabilities of groups I – III, families with children under 18 years old (or up to 23 if the children are studying), and families composed only of non-working individuals.

Moreover, there have been several changes in the procedure for appointing housing benefits for IDPs:

having savings in a deposit account exceeding 100,000 UAH will no longer be an obstacle for providing aid to orphans, children deprived of parental care, as well as children temporarily placed with relatives, acquaintances, foster families, or family-type children's homes;

if a non-working able-bodied individual registered as unemployed at an employment center after their aid was terminated within the same six-month period or found employment, their aid will be reinstated (from the month they started working).

The continuation of benefits will occur automatically; no additional application is required.

The ministry also reminded that the amount of aid is:

  • 2,000 UAH - for one adult;
  • 3,000 UAH - for one child or an IDP with a disability.

Aid is provided monthly for each family member of IDPs from vulnerable categories of Ukrainians or those with low incomes.
