Hydraulic Testing of Heating Networks in Odessa
In Odessa, hydraulic testing of heating networks is underway, an essential condition for preparing for the winter heating season.
Pipes are being examined for tightness and strength to minimize the risk of emergencies during the heating season. The temperature of the heat carrier is currently below 40°C. Sections of the heating network that cannot be repaired are being replaced with new ones.
In connection with the city's preparation for winter, assistance continues from the USAID Energy Security Project.
In the past month, the municipal enterprise «TMO» has received four shipments of pre-insulated steel pipes along with fittings and shut-off valves.
In total, the enterprise has received pre-insulated polyurethane foam steel pipes:
- with a diameter of 325 — 816 meters;
- with a diameter of 219 — 24 meters;
- with a diameter of 108 — 78 meters;
- with a diameter of 57 — 14 meters.
Additionally, the «TMO» also received: ball valves, heat-shrink couplings, stationary straight supports, flexible hoses, sealing rings, joint insulation kits, and compensating cushions.
This assistance will enable further planned work to replace damaged heating networks.
The «TMO» urges residents and visitors of Odessa to park their vehicles only in designated areas and to avoid approaching places where ground subsidence has been noticed. They should also report such occurrences to the specialized response center in the housing and utilities sector — 15-01.
