Enhancing Pedestrian Safety: New Initiatives

Experts from the KУ «SMEP» are carrying out projects to install delineator posts and metal posts along pedestrian areas. 

These measures contribute to: 
-​​​ ensuring pedestrian safety – preventing vehicles from encroaching on sidewalks and green spaces; 
-​​​ organizing parking – preventing chaotic parking, especially in narrow areas; 
-​​​ managing traffic flows – delineators help maintain lane discipline and reduce the risk of accidents. 

According to point 11.13 of the Traffic Rules, it is prohibited for vehicles to drive on sidewalks and pedestrian paths. Additionally, per point 15.10 of the Traffic Rules, parking on sidewalks is also forbidden. 

Sidewalks — are designated areas for pedestrians, elderly individuals, and persons with limited mobility. It is crucial to ensure safety and comfort for pedestrians, especially near medical facilities and high pedestrian traffic locations.
