New Tram in Odesa: Accessibility for Everyone

A new tram has been launched in Odesa, equipped with a special lift for individuals with disabilities.

The company «Odesacityelectrotrans» has completed the upgrade of another «Tatra» tram that will soon be operational on the city routes.

The uniqueness of this updated tram lies in the innovative lift developed by Odesa engineers, designed specifically for passengers with limited mobility. These lifts were showcased to the Odesa delegation during their visit to the InnoTrans - 2024 international transport exhibition in Berlin. The mayor of Odesa highlighted this as a successful example of international cooperation.

The design has passed all necessary technical tests and received positive feedback from ambassadors of the «Barrier-Free Movement» initiative. The enterprise has now submitted documents for patenting this development.

«We are not just upgrading transport — we are creating comfort and accessibility for every resident. Such projects have become the norm for Odesa, but I am well aware of the colossal effort behind each result,» stated the mayor of Odesa.

The modernized tram is ready to hit the routes, and specialists are working on further enhancements.
