Fires in Odesa: An Ecological Crisis
In the past week, over 350 fires have occurred in Odesa's ecosystems and open areas.
This information was provided by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
Odesa is experiencing an unusual heatwave, leading to an increase in the number of fires in natural zones and open fields.
Our firefighters respond to dozens, sometimes over a hundred calls daily to extinguish these fires.
Working under extreme conditions, in high temperatures and heavy gear without breaks, they fight the consequences of human negligence, striving to prevent the flames from destroying their homeland and homes, and to save both nature and lives.
According to the State Environmental Inspection of the Southwestern Region, the damage to the environment exceeds 26 billion hryvnias! These are not just numbers - they represent losses that cannot be recovered! All this is due to human indifference, an unextinguished match, a cigarette butt, or the 'tradition' of burning dry grass.
Once again, we urge everyone to be responsible and to stop burning our country!
