The Journey to Medicine: From Childhood Dreams to Heroism
The Minister of Health, Viktor Lyashko, emphasized in his address that being a medical professional is more than just a job; it is a true calling.
"Once, they listened intently to the heartbeat of their favorite toys. Today, they save lives. Those who chose the path of medicine," the minister wrote.
According to him, it all starts with the simple: childhood interests, play, and then evolves into serious decisions, education, practice, shifts, fatigue, responsibility, and a strong desire to help.
"Healthcare professionals are with us from the very beginning and stay by our side in the toughest moments. This is the nurse who supports a child during a procedure. This is the doctor who not only heals but also offers a comforting hand. This is the paramedic who saves precious time. This is the military medic who saves lives under fire. This is the rehabilitation specialist who helps individuals return to life. These are the ones working in frontline hospitals, knowing how crucial their presence is. And those who dedicate themselves every day to their roles – in operating rooms, at clinics, in ambulances," the minister emphasized.
