New Opportunity for Compensation Requests: A Chance for Ukrainians

Ukrainians who have not yet used the compensation funds for repairing their damaged homes can now reapply for assistance.

This announcement was made by Taras Melnychuk, the permanent representative of the government in the Verkhovna Rada, on Telegram.

The necessary amendments have been made to the rules governing compensation for restoring specific categories of real estate damaged due to military actions, terrorist acts, and diversions caused by the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, utilizing the electronic public service «eRestoration».

According to the changes, recipients of compensation who, due to objective circumstances (as defined by the resolution), have not fully or partially utilized the compensation funds within the established timeframe are allowed to reapply for compensation or its remainder.

Moreover, regulations have been established regarding the accountability of compensation fund recipients for misusing the funds if such facts are discovered by the compensation review committee.

As previously reported, under the "eRestoration" program, nearly 97,000 families received assistance for restoring damaged property, while almost 20,000 families were compensated for purchasing new housing to replace what was destroyed.
