Odessa Region Leads the 2025 Harvest

27 June 2025

Farmers in the Odessa region have shown impressive results in the 2025 harvest, having collected 132.3 thousand tons of new grain by June 27, which accounts for more than half of the national total.

According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, Ukrainian farmers have begun harvesting, having harvested 74.3 thousand hectares and collected 188.1 thousand tons of early cereals and legumes by June 27.

"Harvesting has begun in Ukraine. As of June 27, 74.3 thousand hectares have been harvested, yielding 188.1 thousand tons of early cereals and legumes. The collection of rapeseed has also started," stated the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.

Currently, harvesting is taking place in three regions: Odessa, Mykolaiv, and Dnipropetrovsk, but farmers in Odessa are achieving the best results, significantly outpacing their competitors. Farmers in Mykolaiv have collected 43.7 thousand tons of grain, while those in Dnipropetrovsk only 8.3 thousand tons.

Overall, Ukrainian farmers have harvested 22.4 thousand tons of wheat from 10.5 thousand hectares, 151.6 thousand tons of barley from 55.4 thousand hectares, and 14.2 thousand tons of peas from 8.4 thousand hectares.

In addition to cereals, farmers in Mykolaiv and Odessa have started harvesting rapeseed, which has been harvested from 4.2 thousand hectares. This demonstrates that the southern regions of Ukraine continue to be the country's granary due to favorable climatic conditions and early maturation of crops.
