Surge in Electric Vehicle Registrations in Odesa Region

The Odesa region has emerged as one of the top areas in Ukraine for electric vehicle registrations in May. A total of 345 electric cars were registered in the region, with a significant portion being used vehicles. This information was reported by the association "Ukravtoprom".

Statistical Insights and Driver Preferences

According to "Ukravtoprom", 345 electric vehicles were registered in Odesa in May, 77% of which were previously used cars. Leading the national rankings is Lviv region with 799 new electric vehicles, followed by Kyiv (779 cars), Kyiv region (556 cars), and Dnipropetrovsk region (518 cars). Overall, May 2025 saw an increase of 6168 new electric vehicles on Ukrainian roads.

In terms of driver preferences, the most popular new model in Kyiv, Kyiv region, and Dnipropetrovsk region is the Volkswagen ID.UNYX. Meanwhile, in Lviv and Odesa regions, the clear favorite among new electric vehicles is the Honda eNS1. Among used cars, Nissan Leaf continues to lead in our region.

According to the State Customs Service, since the beginning of the year, over 40 thousand electric vehicles have been imported into Ukraine, primarily from the United States, at a total cost of 810 million dollars. Electric vehicles account for 22% of all imported cars. Customs officials predict that 2025 could set a record for the number of imported "green" cars. The average price of an electric vehicle imported to Ukraine exceeds 20 thousand dollars.
