Major Fire Incident in Odesa Region
A large fire broke out in the Odesa region. Extensive areas of dry grass and wheat were ablaze. Over 20 individuals participated in the firefighting effort, utilizing 5 units of equipment. This was reported by the State Emergency Service.
The incident took place yesterday, June 18, in the afternoon outside the village of Tykhe. There, dry grass and wheat were burning. Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze covering an area of 1.7 hectares. They also managed to save a wheat field spanning 100 hectares.
"There are no casualties or injuries. The cause of the fire and the damage are being investigated. The State Emergency Service deployed 2 units of equipment and 11 rescuers, the National Guard fire unit contributed 1 unit and 4 personnel, while local residents provided 2 units of equipment and 6 individuals", - the State Emergency Service reported.
