Seminar on Advances in Oncology in Odesa

On October 29, 2025, a seminar focused on innovative treatment approaches for breast and lung cancer was held in Odesa.

This event, organized with the support of the Odesa City Health Department and the All-Ukrainian International Association of Evidence-Based Medicine, aimed to enhance the skills of healthcare professionals.

During the seminar, important topics of early detection and cancer prevention in Odesa were discussed, along with international advancements in lung cancer diagnostics and treatment pathways for patients with oncological conditions.

According to last year's data, there are over 47,000 registered cancer patients in Odesa, including 168 children, highlighting the urgency of preventive measures.

The Health Department has initiated the "Odesa Against Cancer" project, which focuses on improving access to cancer diagnostics and treatment.

Weekly preventive check-ups introduced have increased community participation in cancer screenings aimed at early disease detection.

In the first half of 2025, over 30,000 preventive examinations were conducted in Odesa's medical facilities, including more than 15,500 cancer screenings, leading to the identification of 300 new suspected cancer cases.

Experts have developed patient roadmaps for timely cancer prevention and early detection, available via QR codes.

Informative posters are displayed at bus stops and on city advertising platforms to spread awareness about early diagnostic and preventive opportunities among Odesa residents.
