International Rehabilitation Forum in Odesa
On September 18, 2025, the city of Odesa hosted the international forum titled «Bionic Forum: Ukraine’s Rehabilitation & Reforms».
The event saw participation from representatives of various organizations, including the Ukrainian Parliament, Ministry of Health, and social services.
Over two days, discussions covered state policy, international rehabilitation experiences, cutting-edge technologies like exoskeletons and robotic prosthetics, as well as psychological rehabilitation.
“This forum is a platform for action. Prosthetics is vital for integrating people with disabilities into society. Odesa has all the prerequisites to become the rehabilitation center of Ukraine,” stated Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov.
The city government is actively working on developing rehabilitation services for veterans. Modern rehabilitation departments are operational in several hospitals.
Currently, a Southern Ukrainian Rehabilitation Center is being established in Odesa, which will combine medical assistance, educational programs, and adaptive sports.
Adaptive sports methodologies are being actively integrated into the rehabilitation process. Recently, the Odesa team successfully participated in a regatta in Venice.
The «Bionic Forum: Ukraine’s Rehabilitation & Reforms» will serve as a significant step towards the development of the rehabilitation system in Ukraine, facilitating the implementation of effective policies and technologies.
