Revitalization of Maternity Hospital in Odesa: New Horizons for Expecting Mothers
The Mayor of Odesa, Hennadiy Trukhanov, recently reviewed the progress of the renovation of maternity hospital No. 5.
The renovation is financed under the Ukraine restoration program, which includes contributions from the European Investment Bank and the city budget.
«Eighty percent of the renovation is funded by the European Investment Bank, while the city contributes twenty percent. Upon completion, future mothers will be able to give birth in comfortable conditions, and we hope this will positively influence birth rates,» stated Hennadiy Trukhanov.
The modernization and renovation of the facility will allow for the establishment of a city perinatal center based on maternity hospital No. 5, as outlined in the strategy for Odesa's economic and social development.
To achieve this, a significant amount of work needs to be carried out, including thermomodernization measures: insulation of the facade and roof, renovation of two operating-resuscitation units, and internal engineering and heating networks.
