Donating Blood: A Lifesaving Gesture Everyone Can Contribute To
Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the demand for donated blood has surged and remains critically high. Medical professionals at Primary Healthcare Center No. 16 are fully aware of this and have conducted their eleventh collective blood donation this week.
«Our soldiers are bravely defending us. When they are injured, we can repay their sacrifices by sharing a part of our blood to save their lives. We must continue this support and do everything we can,» said Anna Pavlega, the director of PHC No. 16, who regularly donates blood and inspires her team by example.
During the event, about fifteen staff members of PHC No. 16 donated blood. One donation can save up to three lives.
The blood donation was part of the city charity project «Weeks of Good Deeds».
Today, as Ukraine has been on the frontline for over three years, blood donation serves as another line of defense. It is crucial that everyone without contraindications joins this effort.
Donating blood not only saves lives but also benefits the donor:
- prevention of cardiovascular diseases and thrombosis;
- lower risk of certain cancers;
- overall renewal of the body.
Donors are granted two additional days off with paid salary.
