Expansion of Digital Ministry's Authority in Ukraine

On April 4, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine made a decision to expand the authority of the Ministry of Digital Transformation in the fields of cutting-edge technologies, robotics, artificial intelligence, and semiconductors.

This was announced by Taras Melnychuk, the government representative in the Verkhovna Rada.

According to the new changes, the Digital Ministry:

supports the development of robotics, semiconductor technologies, and national production in these areas, including unmanned systems and innovative technologies for defense needs;

defines key areas of development and ensures appropriate regulation;

organizes financial support for companies engaged in the development and production of robotics and unmanned technologies;

coordinates research and testing of new samples;

creates infrastructure for testing and demonstrating robotics and innovative technologies;

promotes the advancement of artificial intelligence in Ukraine.

It is worth noting that the Cabinet of Ministers has transferred the regulation of gambling and lotteries from the Gambling Business Commission to the Digital Ministry.
