ChatGPT Voice Mode Update: Enhanced Interaction and Convenience

26 November 2025

ChatGPT has received significant updates in its voice mode, which is now integrated directly into the main chat interface, enhancing user interaction. Users no longer need to switch to a separate screen, making communication more natural and convenient.
Previously, activating the voice mode would redirect users to a special page with animations and multiple buttons, including a recording feature. In this separate interface, chatbot responses were only voiced and not displayed on the screen, complicating information retrieval.
Now, everything has changed. During a voice conversation, responses can be seen on the screen in real-time, including text, images, and maps. Users can also view previous messages, making their communication experience more coherent.
Switching between voice and text modes has become easier; just hit the "Finish" button to return to standard text input.
The new voice mode is now set as the default and is gradually being rolled out in the web version and mobile applications of ChatGPT.
For those accustomed to the old separate interface, there is still an option to revert in the settings under "Voice Mode," where users can activate the "Separate mode" for a more tailored interaction experience.
