Amazon Launches New Leo Ultra Antenna

25 November 2025

Amazon has unveiled the Leo Ultra antenna, touted as its most powerful device for satellite internet. The company describes it as "the fastest customer antenna in production."
The antenna, measuring 20×30 inches, provides download speeds of up to 1 Gbps and upload speeds of up to 400 Mbps, offering private networking services and direct connectivity to AWS and cloud platforms.
Additionally, Amazon showcased two smaller models: Pro with speeds up to 400 Mbps and the compact Nano, which supports up to 100 Mbps.
In comparison to Starlink, which currently offers speeds up to 400 Mbps, Leo Ultra appears significantly faster, although SpaceX promises to reach gigabit speeds next year with new satellites.
Amazon also emphasizes security: the private networking capabilities of Leo Ultra could be a major advantage, as recent studies have highlighted serious vulnerabilities in older unencrypted satellite networks that allowed interception of calls, logins, SMS, and corporate correspondence. This underscores the need for modern, secure satellite solutions that Amazon provides.
It’s worth noting that just last week, Amazon officially rebranded its satellite internet project from Project Kuiper to Amazon Leo, hinting at low Earth orbit (LEO).
