New Features in Google Maps for Users
Google Maps is rolling out new features that will assist users in gaining more insights about various establishments before visiting, finding charging points for electric vehicles, and other useful tools.
Now, when searching for restaurants, hotels, or other venues, users will benefit from enhanced information through Gemini. The AI will aggregate reviews and tips, such as the best way to make a reservation or where to park conveniently.
The "Know before you go" feature is currently available for users in the USA on both Android and iOS platforms.
Additionally, a new feature shows available charging points for electric cars. Previously, Google Maps only indicated the locations of charging stations, but now it will also display the approximate number of available spots. This update will gradually roll out for Android Auto and cars with built-in Google systems worldwide.
Google Maps has also introduced an Explore tab to help users discover new places. This tab will showcase popular and trending restaurants or events nearby, allowing users to swipe through options easily. This update will also become available to users globally in the coming weeks.
Users will have the ability to leave reviews under nicknames. They can choose avatars and names that match their review style. The system will continue to monitor suspicious and fake ratings to prevent abuse. This update will later be available in both the mobile app and the web version of Google Maps.
