Microsoft Launches Mixed Reality Link System

Microsoft has officially announced the launch of the Mixed Reality Link system. This innovative technology transforms Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S headsets into virtual monitors for Windows 11 computers. Previously, this feature was available only to beta testers, but it is now gradually being rolled out to all users.
Mixed Reality Link creates a virtual workspace where users can see multiple high-quality screens that simulate monitors. To utilize this feature, users need to install the Mixed Reality Link client on their Windows 11 computer and connect the Meta Quest headset.
Additionally, the service supports Microsoft's cloud solutions, including Windows 365 Cloud PC, Azure Virtual Desktop, and Dev Box. This allows users to access a virtual desktop even without a powerful local computer, as the computing is handled in the cloud.
The functionality is reminiscent of Apple Vision Pro's capabilities but at a significantly lower cost. The base Meta Quest 3S headset is priced around $300, while the Vision Pro starts at $3,500.
