Elon Musk Launches Alternative to Wikipedia

Elon Musk has launched his own alternative to Wikipedia, named Grokipedia, as he promised. According to The Verge, some articles on Grokipedia are directly adapted or even fully copied from Wikipedia.
Pages, including those about MacBook Air, PlayStation 5, and Lincoln Mark VIII, include a note stating: "Content adapted from Wikipedia, licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0". Often, the texts match the originals word for word.
Despite Musk's claims that Grokipedia will be an "improvement" over Wikipedia, the site currently appears to be an early copy of it. The homepage only contains a search bar, and the articles have a simple structure with headings and links. Editing materials is not possible at this time – the "Edit" button appears only on certain pages and shows a change history without author attribution.
Some articles also contain altered phrasing, particularly on climate change. While Wikipedia notes a "near-unanimous scientific consensus," Grokipedia casts doubt on this and hints at "coordinated information campaigns" that allegedly exaggerate the scale of the problem.
A representative from the Wikimedia Foundation, Lauren Dickinson, commented to The Verge:
"Even Grokipedia needs the existence of Wikipedia. Since 2001, Wikipedia has remained the backbone of knowledge on the internet – independent, transparent, and created by people".
The homepage of Grokipedia states that the project currently contains around 885,000 articles – significantly fewer than the over 7 million in the English Wikipedia. The current version of the service is marked as v0.1.
