Meta Launches New Voice Dubbing Feature for Reels

20 August 2025

Meta has announced the global launch of an innovative voice dubbing feature for Reels videos, leveraging artificial intelligence technology. This allows users to translate their voice while synchronizing lip movements.

To use this feature, users must select the option "Translate your voice using Meta AI" before publishing their video. The tool then generates a translation audio track, maintaining the original voice's intonation. Users can also enable lip sync with the translated audio.

Prior to publishing, creators can preview the results and decide whether to add synchronization. A message indicating the use of AI will appear in videos with translations.

Currently, the feature is available for Facebook creators with over 1,000 followers, as well as for users with public Instagram accounts. Meta recommends utilizing this tool in videos that address the camera directly, without excessive background music or closed mouths. The system supports up to two speakers, but the company advises against overlapping voices.

Meta positions this new feature as a means to broaden content audiences beyond the creator's native language. Additionally, a translation effectiveness tool will be implemented.

At launch, the translation feature is only available for English and Spanish, but the company plans to expand language support in the future.
