SpaceX Launches New Batch of Starlink Satellites

The American company SpaceX launched another 28 Starlink internet satellites into space on Wednesday, July 30.

The Falcon 9 rocket lifted off from the Florida launch site at 06:37 Kyiv time carrying the 28 satellites. The first stage of the rocket landed on a drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean a few minutes after liftoff. The second stage of Falcon 9 headed towards its designated orbit. Currently, there are over 8,050 active Starlink satellites in low Earth orbit out of more than 9,300 launched since 2018. This launch marked the 96th mission of SpaceX this year, with nearly all (except for three) being carried out using Falcon 9 rockets.

This week, the company plans to conduct two more launches: another Starlink mission from California and a 'Crew-11' mission with astronauts to the International Space Station from the Florida launch site.
