New Video Preview Feature in Google Drive
A new feature has been introduced in Google Drive that allows users to preview videos via thumbnails when hovering over the progress bar, similar to YouTube. This update will be available for all new videos uploaded through the web interface or mobile app. However, it is important to note that thumbnails can only be viewed in the web version of Google Drive.
According to the company, this addition aims to enhance user interaction with video content and expedite the search for specific segments. It is emphasized that the feature will not apply to older videos uploaded before this update was released.
Google states that the rollout will be gradual, affecting all users: Google Workspace subscribers, individual subscribers, and personal account holders.
Early access to the feature opened on July 22, with a wide rollout scheduled for August 20 of this year.
