Tourism for Everyone: Odessa's Path to Accessibility
Today, December 5, 2024, a conference titled «Tourism for Everyone» took place in Odessa.
The primary goal of the event was to unite the efforts of local authorities and businesses to enhance inclusivity in the tourism sector.
This topic has been highlighted as crucial by the National Tourism Organization of Ukraine for the year 2024.
Despite the challenges posed by the ongoing conflict, Odessa continues to welcome both domestic and international tourists, making accessibility issues increasingly important.
The conference brought together individuals with disabilities, government representatives, and business leaders to discuss the accessibility of cultural and tourist sites, as well as issues related to medical tourism.
«We are working to create conditions where every resident and guest can move freely, access needed services, and participate in the social life of the city. Our infrastructure, including hotels, restaurants, museums, and theaters, must be tailored to accommodate everyone,» emphasized Mayor Gennady Trukhanov.
Additionally, participants discussed the current state, future plans, grant programs, and the involvement of business structures in developing an accessible environment in Odessa.
