Choral Music Festival in Odesa

On December 20, 2024, the opening of the V Choral Festival «The Fire of Christmas» took place at the Odesa Literary Museum, organized by the T. I. Boyeva Art School No. 15.

Ivan Liptuga, the director of the Culture Department of the Odesa City Council, greeted the participants with Christmas wishes, encouraging them to continue celebrating Odesa with their talents.

The festival featured Christmas musical compositions performed by choirs from art schools in Odesa and musical institutions of the Odesa region, providing unforgettable impressions to the audience.

A scientific-methodical conference titled «Christmas Songs in Modern Choral Music» was also held as part of the festival.

The conference discussed the development of Ukrainian folk singing and innovations in working with choirs within the music education system of Ukraine.

The second day of the festival, December 23, 2024, will be dedicated to remote performances by various ensembles. This year, choirs and ensembles from several major and minor cities in Ukraine, including Odesa, Chornomorsk, Kryvyi Rih, Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, and Stryzhavka, are participating, along with groups from Norway and Moldova joining in support.
