Exhibition 'Blood - Life' at Odessa Church
The Odessa Church has become a venue for the exhibition titled 'Blood - Life'.
This exhibition reinterprets the importance of blood donation through artistic expressions, created in collaboration with the 'Donor Odessa' project, involving faculty and students from the Artistic Graphic Department of the South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University.
The theme of helping others and saving lives by sharing one's blood resonates deeply with Christian values.
Symbolically, a mural depicting a large red stain, representing the blood of Christ, is painted above the altar, uniting all who approach the altar of God.
'When individuals donate blood, they do so regardless of nationality or faith. If we believe in one God, everything else that divides us should take a back seat. Today, we aim to showcase our unity and readiness to assist one another,' said Pastor Alexander Gross during the exhibition opening.
The opening ceremony also featured the awarding of diplomas and gifts to students and faculty who contributed significantly to the exhibition.
Honored artist of Ukraine, Dmitry Velichko, along with Anna Nosenko, Natalia Loza, and other faculty members collaborated with young artists to produce over 40 works that celebrate the beauty of donating blood.
This is the first exhibition of 3D art objects on the topic of blood donation in Ukraine, taking place within the cathedral.
The exhibition will be open for visitors for the next month.
Address: Novoselskogo St. 68, Church.
Admission - free.
