Criticism of Social Media for Censorship of Child Casualty Reports

Georgiy Tikhiy, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has sharply criticized social media platform X for labeling posts about the deaths of Ukrainian children due to Russian shelling as «inappropriate content».

He accused the platform of ignoring the crimes committed by Russia.

The Ministry emphasized that social media X is attempting to suppress the truth about Russian aggression.

«Seriously, X? Since when has the death of Ukrainian children been considered «inappropriate content”? This is not about user protection; it is about concealing war crimes. This is unacceptable, and this decision should be reversed», he stated in his post.

Georgiy Tikhiy also shared a screenshot to demonstrate how the social media platform hid the information from the official MFA page.

The image shows that platform X obscured a post that contained statistics on at least 616 Ukrainian children killed and 1869 injured since the onset of the full-scale invasion.
