Day of Mourning for the Victims of the Kryvyi Rih Attacks

April 6 is declared a Day of Mourning in Ukraine for the victims of the Kryvyi Rih attacks on April 4.

“Cities and villages in Ukraine commemorate April 6 as a Day of Mourning for the victims of the attack in Kryvyi Rih,” wrote Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction Oleksii Kuleba.

As a result of the missile strike and drone attack, 19 people lost their lives.

Attack on Kryvyi Rih: details about the victims

The missile strike on Friday evening resulted in 18 casualties, including 9 children.

“Three-year-old Tymofii unfortunately passed away today (April 5). Seven-year-old Radyslav, seven-year-old Arina, nine-year-old Herman, fifteen-year-old Danilo, fifteen-year-old Mykyta, fifteen-year-old Alina, sixteen-year-old Kostyantyn, and seventeen-year-old Nikita,” named the deceased children President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Currently, there are 75 reported injured.

In hospitals, 37 people remain, with 19 in serious condition.

The occupiers struck Kryvyi Rih on Friday evening with an Iskander ballistic missile featuring cluster munitions, targeting the center of a residential area where a playground, café, and homes are located.

Hours later, the Russians attacked the city again with drones.

One person died in this attack, and seven others were injured.

Zelensky called for pressure on Russia

In his evening address, President Volodymyr Zelensky urged the world to apply pressure on Russia.

“Russia must be held accountable for all its actions; we need to put pressure on them—really pressure, not waste time in empty conversations—to end this war,” said the president.

Volodymyr Zelensky, who previously criticized the USA for its “weak” stance regarding the missile strike on Kryvyi Rih, called for not remaining silent about Russian crimes.

“To ignore that it is Russia killing children with ballistic missiles is wrong, it is dangerous. This only incites the scoundrels in Moscow to continue the war and further ignore diplomacy. Weakness has never ended a war. Therefore, I am grateful to every country whose representatives have spoken out: leaders, foreign ministers, embassies,” emphasized the president.
