Support for Ukrainian Law Enforcement During Crisis
Discussion on law enforcement operations during wartime and international assistance.
Anders Johansen, the regional representative of the EU Advisory Mission in Odesa, along with his colleagues, expressed gratitude towards local police and extended their support in the fight against Russian aggression.
The police, led by Ivan Zhuk, shared insights on the challenges they are currently facing, including crimes committed by enemy forces, ensuring civilian safety, and combating transnational crime, particularly in relation to drug and arms trafficking.
During the talks, significant focus was placed on the modernization and increase of resources required for executing these tasks.
European partners emphasized the necessity of supporting the police in Odesa under these challenging conditions and their readiness to provide assistance to enhance effectiveness, including sharing best practices and providing professional equipment.
The regional police chief thanked the Mission representatives for their ongoing cooperation and support.
