New Memory Tradition in Odesa

A new practice has emerged in Odesa – each month, locals commemorate the memory of those from Odesa and the surrounding region who died in war.

This practice symbolizes respect and gratitude for the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for Ukraine's independence and freedom.

The ceremony «Bell of Remembrance» includes the reading of the names of the fallen heroes and a prayer for the deceased warriors. 

On the last day of February, this ceremony once again united city residents, community organizations, military personnel, veterans, and government representatives in prayer and shared remembrance of the heroes lost during the month. 

Each toll of the bell represents the steadfastness of our memory and gratitude. 

We remember. We honor. We are grateful.
