28 November 2025

On November 28, personnel from the Ukrainian Naval Forces discovered and eliminated a dangerous sea object in the waters of the Odesa region. The mine was neutralized through a controlled detonation, removing risks for navigation and local residents.
According to the Ukrainian Navy, specialists detected the explosive object during monitoring of the Odesa waters. The swift response of the military allowed for the timely localization of the threat and the implementation of necessary measures for its elimination.
"The military sailors successfully neutralized the mine found in the Odesa waters. This action removed the threat to navigation and local inhabitants," the statement says.
The destruction of mines is part of the ongoing efforts of the Ukrainian Navy to clear the Black Sea areas after the onset of the war. The presence of explosive devices in coastal waters poses a serious threat to both civilian and military navigation, prompting specialists to continue systematic work in detecting and eliminating dangerous objects in the Odesa waters and other regions.
